Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials on Tuesday to implement the “Housing for All” programme on a saturation basis, aiming to provide a permanent house to every eligible family in the state by 2029.

The CM instructed the completion of 5.52 lakh houses by March 2027, including 1.5 lakh urban houses and over two lakh houses by December 2026. A total of 18.72 lakh houses have been sanctioned under PMAY 1.0, PMAY 2.0 and PM Janman, of which 13.2 lakh are finished. Under the Andhra Pradesh Housing Corporation, 11.31 lakh of 16.11 lakh houses are finished, and AP TIDCO has completed 1.88 lakh of 2.61 lakh houses. Officials were asked to sanction 75,000 new houses by December 2027 and add another 1.5 lakh to the pipeline.

The CM also tasked officials with coordinating with the Union Ministries of Rural Development and Housing & Urban Affairs to secure allocations, integrating data from various departments to identify demand among families lacking housing sites, and publishing preliminary beneficiary lists at village and ward levels for transparent objection resolution.

In addition, the CM directed the Housing Department to develop industrial townships across the state, including Sri City, with Central Government support, and to coordinate with the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation for these projects, reinforcing the goal of a safe, permanent home for every eligible family by 2029.
