A Miami police raid on a house uncovered a large stash of illegal drugs and firearms, leading to the arrest of two senior citizens facing charges for drug dealing.
The operation began with an undercover agent purchasing a $60 bag of cocaine from 73‑year‑old Magdaleno Medina on August 19 at his trailer. On Wednesday at 3 p.m., a SWAT team and regular officers entered the residence, discovering 141 grams of cocaine in multiple small plastic bags, 1,278 grams of marijuana also stored in small bags, a Smith & Wesson .38 revolver, a Sig R365 .9‑mm handgun, and ammunition for both weapons.
Medina and 89‑year‑old Cesar Valdes were taken into custody at the scene. They were booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on charges that include armed cocaine trafficking and grand theft of a firearm. Police noted that the revolver had been reported stolen from another county, and the .9‑mm handgun had been reported in Doral.
Both men, who were born in Cuba, are held on an immigration hold. They are represented by Miami‑Dade County’s Public Defender’s Office, according to jail records and reports from The Miami Herald.
