A car was found stuck under an Interstate 20 overpass near Windsor Street in Atlanta, with the driver’s feet dangling 20 feet above the ground, emergency crews reported Sunday night.
Video captured the vehicle wedged between concrete support beams, showing the driver’s legs hanging over the edge. The clip quickly spread online, prompting widespread curiosity about how the crash occurred and the driver’s safety.
Firefighters and paramedics arrived promptly and secured the vehicle to prevent it from falling. The driver was able to exit the car without special equipment, and Grady EMS evaluated him on site before transporting him to a hospital. Tow trucks later removed the vehicle, restoring traffic flow.
Two witnesses who filmed the incident noted a crowd gathering and cars lined up, with occupants looking up at the overpass in confusion. The sight reminded them of a scene from The Wizard of Oz, where a character’s legs appear beneath a house.
Police have not released the driver’s identity and are continuing an investigation. Officials have stated that the driver is expected to recover, but details about how the vehicle ended up in the precarious position remain unclear.
