The Sudha Reddy Foundation and the MEIL Foundation announced the third edition of the Pink Power Run on Monday, with organisers expecting more than 20,000 participants for the event scheduled for September 27 at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road in Hyderabad.
The run will feature four race categories – a 3 km, 5 km, 10 km and an official 21.097‑km Half Marathon that will be certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). The event will carry a total prize pool of ₹975 lakh, with more than 100 winners expected to benefit.
Sudha Reddy, chairperson of the Sudha Reddy Foundation and director of MEIL, said the run had started as a small dream that has now taken shape and reached its third successful year.
Pragnya Chigurupati, a breast oncosurgeon with AIG Hospitals, said the initiative is particularly important given the changing breast cancer trends in the state. “Telangana is currently rated the highest in terms of breast cancer among women, especially younger women – that could be you or me,” she added. Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata Chuangsri expressed gratitude for being invited back for a cause that is important to her, recalling her participation in a Pink Power Run activity in Vietnam during the Miss World Festival, where the initiative was taken beyond India.
