A special Aadhaar verification process has been introduced for elderly farmers in Latur district who are unable to complete fingerprint authentication under the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmers’ Loan Waiver Scheme 2026. Officials said the measure aims to ensure that these cultivators can still access the loan waiver benefits despite biometric challenges.
Farmers are instructed to go to the nearest Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra with their Aadhaar card and bank passbook. At the centre staff will first check the farmer’s loan account details on the scheme’s portal using either the scheme number or the Aadhaar number and then attempt the authentication. If the verification fails, the case is escalated to the responsible tehsildar, who will confirm the farmer’s identity by reviewing the Aadhaar card, bank passbook and the 7/12 land‑record extract.
Once the tehsildar establishes the identity, the Aadhaar authentication is completed and the farmer is marked as eligible. The waiver amount is then transferred directly to the farmer’s bank account through the online system, provided the applicant meets all other eligibility criteria of the loan waiver scheme.
