India secured a 2‑1 series lead over the West Indies after a 14‑run victory in the third T20 International played in Indore on Sunday. The hosts posted 223 all out, while the visitors were bowled out for 209, falling short of the target of 224.
India’s innings began with an explosive 69 from opener Abhishek Sharma, who reached his half‑century in just 18 balls. He joined Ishan Kishan for a 108‑run partnership in 40 balls, with Kishan contributing 37. Roston Chase finished with figures of 2/38, taking two wickets and dismissing Kishan through a stumping by Shai Hope.
West Indies struggled to maintain the scoring rate against India’s attack. Shimron Hetmyer and Kamil Pooran scored 43 and 42 respectively, but Arshdeep Singh’s 3/44 and wickets from Shamar Springer kept the visitors at 209 for 7 in 20 overs.
The win gives India a crucial advantage as the series moves to the fourth match, where a victory would keep the hosts in contention for the series title. West Indies must win the remaining games to keep their hopes of a series victory alive.
