Natalie Harp, 35, a former White House aide, has revealed that she was devoted to the Christian pastor David Jeremiah before joining President Donald Trump’s team, according to her estranged brother Preston Harp. The brother, who has spoken to Raw Story, said that Harp attended Jeremiah’s sermons from the age of thirteen and that she and his parents also worked in the church office when she was about nineteen.
Preston described Jeremiah’s Shadow Mountain Community Church as a megachurch financed by wealthy conservative Republicans, noting that the pastor’s sermons often warned that those who did not accept his interpretation of the gospel would be damned. He recalled that he himself was expelled from the church in 2006 for having doubts about its version of Christianity. Jeremiah was also one of the evangelical leaders who helped Trump win over evangelical voters during the 2016 campaign, though he later withdrew from the president’s circle.
Harp’s relationship with Trump intensified over the years. She was one of the select few who rode with Trump during a secret escape from Air Force One amid a potential Iranian assassination threat, and she has been reported to sleep in the locker room at Trump’s Bedminster golf club and even ride in the trunk of an SUV to stay near the president. In 2019, Harp credited Trump with saving her life after a law he signed in 2018 provided her access to experimental treatments for bone cancer. She wrote in a 2023 letter to Trump, “You are all that matters to me,” and said she would follow him to the White House after joining his team in 2022.
The brother has called Trump a “national embarrassment” and described Harp’s relationship with the former president as “very unhealthy,” adding that she is “just like his fan club.” Senator Jon Ossoff has criticized Trump’s focus on personal relationships, while Melania Trump’s senior advisor, Marc Beckman, dismissed allegations of impropriety, calling the media coverage “ridiculous.”
