BJP National President Nitin Nabin is set to visit Jammu on July 6 and 7, marking his first visit to the Union Territory since assuming charge of the party earlier this year. This announcement was made by Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Sat Sharma at a meeting of party office bearers, which was attended by Union Minister Jitendra Singh. The meeting aimed to review ongoing organisational activities and finalise the roadmap for upcoming programmes.
Prior to the office bearers meeting, a core group meeting was also held at the party headquarters. During his two-day visit, Nabin will address party workers, participate in public conventions, and chair a series of organisational meetings to review the party’s functioning and strengthen its organisational network in the Union Territory. In a separate development, the BJP has suspended two senior party leaders, Lateef Khan and Burhan, from the party’s primary membership for two years.
The decision was taken following the recommendations of the Party’s Disciplinary Committee, which found the two leaders guilty of indiscipline. The committee’s decision was based on a thorough examination of available evidence, records, and relevant facts pertaining to the case. The two leaders were accused of engaging in a physical altercation with fellow activists inside the party office in Anantnag, bringing disrepute to the party.
The Disciplinary Committee concluded that both individuals were involved in serious acts of indiscipline, violating the party’s constitution, discipline, and organisational values. The suspension was approved under the chairmanship of Sunil Sethi, Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, Bharatiya Janata Party, Jammu and Kashmir.
