The Congress party has hit out at the government over the rapidly depleting savings due to high inflation, stating that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is busy “shopping” from other parties while the common person cannot afford the necessities.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that households are perishing under the weight of the Modi government’s “mismanagement of the economy”. He took to X to express his concerns, stating, “Rapidly depleting savings due to high inflation. Unaffordability, betrayal of aspirations, inequality, fall in global credibility, youth anger galore!”
Kharge further emphasized the struggles faced by households, citing the 16-month high retail inflation rate, 4.78% food inflation rate, and medical inflation above 15%. He also mentioned the sinking value of the rupee and the lack of job opportunities for the youth.
“BJP busy shopping from other parties, but the AAM AADMI can’t afford basic necessities!” he said, criticizing the BJP’s priorities.
